Our thoughts and prayers to the passenger and crews of Costa's cruise ship.

Hummmm, Las Vegas. Been there about 4 times.  Last time I was there, it was around spring time.  Bring your walking shoes. We must have walked about 3-4 miles a day. Lots to see, but over all was dissapointed on how the entertainment business has evolved over the years.  Every where we turned around, people was trying to hand my husband a card that contains information on how to meet a naked woman.  Yuck !!!!

Complainers

We loved our cruise with Joby and Bill! that cruise would not have been the same with out them and the crazy thing is like Joby said we had just met. Over the years we have remained good friends and I have cherished our friendship! So on to what is on my mind....

Complainers! Have you ever been on a trip where someone complains about something all of the time? It is soooo annoying! I just want to look at them and say Shut Up! but I usually refrain and start talking to myself which probably makes me look like an idiot! Ha Ha! (Anyways, I just wanted to let Joby and Mel know that I am not talking about you or even the vacations with y'all!) I have cruised however twice where someone in my party was extremely annoying and complained about everything! Food is not hot enough, food is too hot, food is not fresh enough, its too cold here and too warm there; I could go on and on. ANNOYING! this is my advice and repeat after me...

I am on vacation. Everything is great and everything is wonderful. If I don't like what is served to me I will politely (and using manners) send it back for something else all the while smiling!

Now don't you feel better! Remember this the next time you go on vacation and all will go smoothly!

Right now I am dreaming of Las Vegas or Chicago!

Good night

Dreaming of The Fiji Islands tonight.

How we met.

Christie and I met on a cruise travel forum called cruisecritic.com
It was for an April 2007 cruise. We had been chatting online for a couple months and was looking forward to meeting each other on the cruise.  It was so funny how Christie recognized me in a parking lot with hundreds of other passengers trying to check in, all from a 1 inch by 1 inch avatar picture.  We were a kindred spirits from the beggining. It was thus far one of the most fun vacations we had ever had.  She is one of the few friends I have that does not get tired of me talking about traveling.

My name is Christie and I am also an Addict!

I am Christie and as you may have noticed I have recruited one of my very good friends Joby to blog with me! Between the two of us we have lots of travel info to share and lots of story's to share as well. Joby will have even more stories since she has at least one cruise booked and maybe a second in the works.  We are going to color code our posts so everyone (if anyone is actually reading this) will know if it's me or Joby. I will be purple. We will have to wait to see what color Joby decided on.

Like I said before, I really want to go on a 40th birthday cruise but my husband is not an addict like me and would prefer to go hunting or climb a mountain that is covered in ice. Not really my idea of a fun vacation. I can see myself being attacked by whatever I am trying to hunt because I was too chicken to pull the trigger or loosing a nose to frostbite or at the least break something! So maybe a girls trip is in store.

I really can't decided which cruise line I want to go on next. I feel like a kid at Christmas where I can't decided which present to open next! I love Carnival! I have never has a bad experience but I feel like I should venture out and try other cruise lines. I have been looking at Royal Caribbean and Disney. I'm not sure if I would like NCL because I have heard that they have freestyle dining. I should do more investigating because I am really not sure how that works. On Carnival one of my favorite things is dinner in the dining room where I have the same waitstaff for the entire cruise. I tried the Your Time Dining on a 4 day cruise and even though I liked the freedom to come in when I wanted I missed the personal aspect of seeing those smiling faces and them calling me by name and remembering that I like a cappuccino with dessert and tea with dinner. It's the small things I look forward to.

That's all for today.

My name is Joby and I am an addict.

It all started when a co-worker went on a cruise and when she came back to work told me all about her awesome vacation. That was in 2004.  I can see her post cruise glow in her face as she told me all about her adventures.  I came home that day and talked my hubby into our very first cruise on the Carnival Conquest. I have not stopped talking about cruising ever since.....

My name is Joby and I am a confirmed addict to traveling in general. I love the beach. I love sunrise and sunsets.  I enjoy spending time with my friends and family.

My first blog!

Ok, so I have always wanted to start a blog of my love of travel. I bit about me...
I am in my 30s and I have been married to the most wonderful man for 13 years and we have 2 beautiful kids ages 9 and 3. I have a regular job (not in travel) I wish!!! Anyways, we are your normal family...if there is such a thing. But I have what you may call an addiction! I love to eat, sleep, dream travel! I love anything dealing with cruising but I dream of other trips and vacations too! Far off places with different languages! or sitting on the Lido deck of a cruise ship and seeing only water as far as the eye can see! Dream! Dream! Dream!
I have decided to blog about cruising and traveling because frankly everyone around me is tired about me talking travel and I cannot continue annoying the people around me with deck plans and pricing and wanting to go here and there!  I am pretty sure my assistant is going to quit if I talk about cruises on more time! So hopefully if you are reading this you understand my addiction and need to get all of the information that I find out there and out of my head!!!

So lets get started!

Last month my family and one of my best friends and her family all went on the Carnival Magic! It was amazing! The best vacation I have ever been on! Not sure if it was the cruise or the company, we had a BLAST! Like I said I love anything to do with cruising-talking about cruising, planning cruises, giving tip on cruising! I have only been on 4 cruises and this was my first 7 day cruise. I have been on a 10 day Holland American cruise in the mid 90s and then a 5 day Carnival cruise in 2007 and then a 4 day Carnival cruise in 2010. So I finally got my dream family 7 day cruise and it was all that and more. Between both families there were 10 people in all and 6 were kids ranging in age from 14 down to 3! We sailed out of Galveston and headed to Cozumel, then Grand Cayman and finished up in Montego Bay Jamaica! Loved every minute of it and I am ready to go again! I will hopfully figure out a way to post pics soon!

I am biting at the heels to book another cruise and I want to go for my BIG 40 next year. I LOVED the Carnival Magic and would love to on the alternative route to the Bahamas BUT I also would like to experience Royal Carribean and go on the Oasis of the Seas! It seems to be quite a bit more than the Magic but I am wondering if it will be worth it....Hmmmmmm
